Why is nutrition important during breastfeeding?

The nutritional demands of breastfeeding are actually higher than they are in the third trimester of pregnancy! If you aren't strategically replenishing your nutrient stores, your body will amazingly prioritize milk production for exactly what baby needs but at the expense of mom’s health. This is why many breastfeeding parents experience "postpartum depletion"—extreme fatigue, brain fog, and mood swings.

Together, we’ll work to:

  • Ensure your body has exactly what it needs to keep up with your baby’s needs and prevent nutrient depletion

  • Promote a healthy milk supply that support’s your baby’s development

  • Provide your body with the caloric density, anti-inflammatory foods, and micronutrients it needs to heal from birth

  • Build meals that support energy, mood, and your unique taste preferences

You might be a good fit if:

  • You want evidence-based nutrition to support a health milk supply and want to optimize milk quality for baby’s brain and immune system

  • You feel "depleted" rather than just tired and suspect your diet isn't covering the extra 500+ calories your body needs to recover from birth and produce milk

  • You’re navigating baby’s digestive issues or allergies and need a plan to ensure both you and your baby stay nourished while removing trigger foods.

  • You want to protect your long-term bone and thyroid health with proactive nutrition during breastfeeding

  • You value a holistic, sustainable approach that includes your mental and emotional health
